  I'm releasing this extension here because I got tired of searching the Smarty Wiki every time I needed a new version of a Smarty template extension. I could never find a single extension that did everything I wanted, so I put the two I liked best into this single extension. This extension is a compilation of two of the better Smarty extensions for Dreamweaver. This version for Dreamweaver MX (Dreamweaver 6) and lower will add the .tpl doctype to Dreamweaver and will display templates with proper visual layout. It also provides the "Smarty Assistant" toolbar for easy visual access to common Smarty syntax.

  This extension is a compilation of two of the better Smarty extensions for Dreamweaver. This version for Dreamweaver MX 2004 and higher (Dreamweaver 7+) will display templates with proper visual layout and provides the "Smarty Assistant" toolbar for easy visual access to common Smarty syntax. It differs from the older version in that it does not attempt to add a Smarty .tpl doctype since Dreamweaver MX 2004 and higher already have the .tpl doctype defined and trying to redefine it with a new default document always crashed my Dreamweaver install, so you just have to live with the default Smarty doctype. You'll never even notice it anyway.

  I wrote this script years ago as an extension of the original "Side Door" script which was a popular way to start a user session if they didn't enter your SoftCart store through the front page. This extended version works anywhere in your site to keep an existing SoftCart session from being lost. Just a simple Javascript file to include at the top of your pages.
